The role of His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London is to uphold the dignity of the Crown and for follow the example of The Queen by providing Londoners with a focus for national identity, unity and pride.
We can help by highlighting and celebrating success through helping to arrange a visit by a member of the Royal Family, the Lord-Lieutenant or one of his Deputies, as well as by supporting nominations for, and the presentation of Honours and Awards.
We can help provide a moment of ceremony and solemnity at times of remembrance.
We can also help increase Londoners’ sense of belonging through building bridges between the disadvantaged and those who do not feel that they belong to society with institutions and groups that will help them to be part of the community.
