HM The Queen Consort visits the Barnardo’s Nursery in Bow
The Vice Lieutenant of Greater London, Colonel Jane Davis, received The Queen Consort when she visited the Barnardo’s Nursery in Bow, East London. During the visit, the Queen Consort delivered hundreds of Paddington Bears and cuddly toys, which were left in tribute to late Queen Elizabeth, to children who are supported by the charity.
The Queen Consort chatted with dozens of youngsters cared for at the Nursery during a picnic, complete with marmalade sandwiches. She was joined by Paddington film cast members Hugh Bonneville and Madeleine Harris, and Karen Jankel, the daughter of author Michael Bond, for whom he wrote the stories.
Bow Nursery provides childcare provision and nursery education to children aged between three months and five years.
