A birthday message of support on behalf of The Queen

Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, said: “I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you are doing and to send you and your loved ones best wishes. Stay safe.

“Today is Her Majesty’s 94th birthday and like most of the nation at the moment, she will be spending the day safely at home. However, we know, and deeply appreciate, that you and your colleagues at the Nightingale London are not at home, but are tirelessly caring for those in need at this difficult time.

“As The Queen said in her message to the nation on 19 March… At times such as these, I am reminded that our nation’s history has been forged by people and communities coming together to work a one, concentrating our combined efforts with a focus on a common goal.

“We are all Londoners and we all need to continue to play our part to enable you to focus on saving lives, and that is what is happening across our great city. The Queen also said in her message… I hope in the years to come, everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge.

“I am a hundred percent confident that you and your colleagues will.”
