Coronation Tree Planting, Regents Park

The Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, was joined by his Vice Lord-Lieutenant and a number of his Deputy Lieutenants, at the planting of Greater London’s Coronation Tree, on the morning of Wednesday 6th March, at Regent’s Park. The black poplar tree, gifted by the Queen’s Green Canopy to mark the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, was planted in the “Lieutenancy grove”, alongside other black poplar trees marking the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, by kind permission of The Royal Parks. Also in attendance was Mr Nick Biddle, Park Manager of Regent’s Park. The black poplar was said to be the late Queen’s favourite tree.
