Planting of Tree of Trees at London Islamic Cultural Society and Mosque
The Tree (from the Tree of Tree sculpture) was planted by the Vice Lord Lieutenant, Col Jane Davis; Cllr Gina Adamou, Mayor of Haringey; Representative Deputy Lieutenant, Capt Peter Baker, Bibi Khan; and LICS community members. This event was also attended by Police Officers from Haringey, children and teachers from Ashmole, Bounds Green, Eversley, and Bonny Grove Primary Schools
The tree was gifted to the London Islamic Cultural Society and Mosque because of the community work, cohesion and active work to build bridges between communities.
The sculpture – Tree of Trees – designed by Thomas Heatherwick was constructed of 350 British native trees and was part of the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) launched to mark Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
