The Duke of Kent plants a commemorative tree in the gardens at Lancaster West Estate, London W11
The Duke of Kent, Patron of the Tree Council, planted a commemorative tree in the gardens at Lancaster West Estate, London W11, to commemorate National Tree Week and was received by Viscount Chelsea (Representative Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London). The tree – a new variety of plum tree – was cultivated to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth’s II 70-year reign.
Community gardeners and residents from the estate assisted with the planting, which was staged as part of the week which is an annual celebration marking the start of the winter tree planting season.
