The Greater London Honours and Awards Presentation 2020 – 2021

On Monday 27th September 2021, on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, presented Londoners from the 2020 and 2021 National Honours Lists with their honours and awards at a special ceremony at Westminster Abbey.  Recipients included: 117 British Empire Medallists, 5 Honorary awards and 15 voluntary organisations with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.  A large number of the recipients were being honoured for their contributions to communities in London during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Lord-Lieutenant said: “It was a very special and humbling occasion, in the magnificent surrounds of Westminster Abbey, to at last be able to recognise and thank the recipients for their contribution to our great city, especially those who have gone above and beyond in helping others during the pandemic.”
