The Queen officially opens and names the Queen Elizabeth Unit at the Royal London Hospital
The Queen, Patron, Royal London Hospital, officially opened and named the Queen Elizabeth Unit at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel Road, London E1, via video link and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), Dame Alwen Williams (Group Chief Executive, Barts Health NHS Trust) and Mrs. Jacqueline Sullivan (Chief Executive, Royal London Hospital).
Her Majesty met staff who have worked on the unit during the pandemic and heard about their roles in treating patients with Covid-19.
The Queen will limit the number of Jubilee events she goes to after admitting her battle with Covid left her tired and exhausted.
