Their Majesties visit Covent Garden – their first engagement since the Coronation
Their Majesties The King and Queen visited Covent Garden where they met members of the local community, businesses and market stallholders. The first stop on the tour was to St. Paul’s Church (known as the “Actors’ Church”), Bedford Street, London WC2, to mark its 390th Anniversary and were received by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa) and the Rector (the Reverend Simon Grigg).
Their Majesties, escorted by the Rector, entered the Church via the Diamond Jubilee Garden and met trustees, churchwardens and members of Church staff. The King also met representatives from the Covent Garden Community Association, actors and members of the theatre community. More details can be found here
