Sir Ian served 44 years as a police officer, his last 2 roles being an assistant commissioner in the Metropolitan Police, with responsibility for day to day policing across London, and as the Chief Constable of the British Transport Police who operated on the railways across the UK. His most recent
job was as the Director of Security for the Organising Committee for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games. He is currently having a third go at retiring and, amongst other things, is devoting more time to his role as Chairman of Orpington Rovers Boys Football club.

Eleanor Botwright received her award at the Town Hall in Camden, It was presented to her by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE.
